Talk is cheap, Walk the Talk
We all talk about ending domestic violence. Yet…
67% of all Canadians say they personally know at least one woman who has been sexually or physically assaulted.
-The Violence Against Women Survey, Statistics Canada, 1993
What have you done about it lately?
Help raise awareness by joining our Walk.
The walk is scheduled for Sunday, May 17, 2015 and will start and end at the Harbourfront Community Centre at 627 Queens Quay West at Bathurst. We will walk west along the Martin Goodman Trail towards our turn around point at the Argonaut Rowing Club for a total of 7.5 km.
Registration starts at 10:00 am and the walk starts at 11:00 am. $20 for adults and $10 for children up to 15 years old and seniors – free t-shirts for all participants
HFG is a not-for-profit organization that provides free, ongoing support to women and children across the Greater Toronto Area who have experienced abuse.
All monies raised will be used to provide job skills training to the mothers and send the children to summer camp.
Can’t do the walk? Come join in with music and games, a silent auction, tea samples by David’s Tea, gelato samples by Touti Gelati and live social media by Afiwi International. Childcare will be provided for children who are unable to do the walk.
